Weddings are full of beautiful moments, but when dogs are part of the day, it adds a special kind of joy. I had the pleasure of joining Lydia and Luke at their wedding at Danby Castle Barn near Whitby, where their two dogs, Bella and Maisie, played a starring role.

Morning Preparations

Before I arrived, Bella and Maisie had already been part of the bridal party preparations, spending time with the family and bridal party. It was clear they were excited for the day ahead!

Garden Time Before the Ceremony

Once I arrived, the dogs had a little quality time with me in the gardens. We took a few moments to relax, stretch, and enjoy the fresh air before the ceremony began. It was a chance for me to check in with them, make sure they were happy and calm, and for the photographer to snap a few candid shots.

Walking Down the Aisle

When the ceremony started, Bella and Maisie joined Lydia and her bridal party for their walk down the aisle. I stood slightly off to the side, making sure they felt safe and supported while remaining unobtrusive. The dogs settled beautifully, watching the ceremony and staying calm throughout.

Confetti & Celebrations

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their furry friends walked out together and straight into a confetti shower. Bella and Maisie were full of personality - Bells slightly unbothered, and (of course) Maisie trying to eat the confetti!

Drinks Reception Fun

During the drinks reception, the dogs mingled with guests on the lawn, enjoying water breaks and even sneaking a little treat from the kitchen - a Yorkshire pudding! It was wonderful to see them fully part of the celebration, enjoying the day alongside friends and family.

Family Portraits

Formal family photos followed on the lawn, with Bella and Maisie posing patiently alongside everyone. Bella relaxed perfectly (to be honest she was quite done with all the excitement), Maisie on the other hand alert and present, waiting for her next yorkshire pudding!

Couples Portraits

Later in the day, I joined photographer Nicole Wilcox, along with Lydia and Luke, for some intimate couples portraits with the dogs. Bella and Maisie were happy to be part of these quiet moments, creating memories that the couple will cherish forever.

Escorting Home

Once Lydia and Luke were happy, I escorted Bella and Maisie back home, both ready for a big snooze!
